Unlike regular chess, victory happens upon capturing the opponent king,
as opposed to delivering checkmate. (This may change)


A "vertical" dimension is represented vertically on the 2D board.
Likewise for "horizontal" dimensions.

Pieces

Pawn - Only moves forward along a "vertical" dimension.
Captures by moving forward along a "vertical" dimension
and then along a "horizontal" dimension.
Promotes to a queen once it has made four moves.

Knight - Moves by changing its position along three dimensions.
One of these dimensions must be "horizontal" and one "vertical".

Rook - Moves by changing its position along one dimension

Bishop - Moves by changing its position along two dimensions simultaneously.

Queen - Moves like a Rook or Bishop.

King- Moves like a Queen, but is confined to the squares indicated by the red lines.
